A Les Paul and a Marshall??? Really??

I was pretty young, probably 18 or so. I went into a local music store here in town and was just looking around. I was soon ready to leave and as I walked out through the door, I heard this sound. It was an amazing guitar tone. Creamy and full, with amazing mid-range and sustain! I looked back over my shoulder and saw this youngster sitting in front of a Marshall with a Les Paul in his hands. I couldn't believe it. I also never went back in to see what he was playing or what the set-up was. I probably would have gone in debt had i gone back in. So, it's a regret that I never saw that setup.

Right now, I'm looking for a new amp. I use a lot of modelling and pre-amps and effects, but I'm looking for a great sound with just a guitar and an amp. My search continues. I have a Strat (1985 Japanese model. Awesome), A Schecter PT model (discontinued now) and one of the new Charvel production line So-Cal models. I love it.

I have 3 Seymore Duncan pickups in my strat. A George Lynch Screamin demon in the neck, a Cool Rails in the middle and a Hot Rails in the bridge. A beautiful combination that sounds great. But I need some fret-work done on her and then she'll be back to perfection. The Schecter's got the classic Seymore Duncan JB in the Bridge and a '59 in the neck. It's a solid guitar with a solid tone. The Charvel has a DiMarzio Evo in the neck and a DiMarzio Tone Zone in the bridge. I may actually swap those around and see what the Evo sounds like in the bridge.

Well, that's enough rambling for now. Rock on dudes....
