Moustache season is officially open.
Movember is an effort to raise funds for and awareness of prostate cancer initiatives. This year me, Chris and Cordell are going to rock the mo like it's nobody's business. Chris's stache is coming in nicely, while mine is just starting to break through. Not surprising, since Chris is hairier than the average chimpanzee. However, I do believe mine will be much classier than Chris or Cordell's. If you would like to donate to this very worthy cause, our team is YYT Rocks. All donations are tax deductible. Thanks.

Summer Update
Hi everyone, just a quick update to let you know that we're still alive and kicking. July was a quiet month gig-wise because most of the band was on vacation with their respective families. Since getting back on the rock though we've been playing almost every weekend and it's been great. Our fall and winter schedule is starting to fill up and we'll be sure to keep you posted with our gig dates. Looks like everything is coming up Milhouse. Rock on.

New YYT Facebook Page
Facebook has decided to change around their groups format so our old YYT Facebook group will be archived in the near future. Instead of creating a new group, we decided to create a page instead. Not sure what the difference is between a page and a group, other than all the cool kids are creating pages these days. Anyways, it's easier than ever to receive updates on YYT events, just click on the "like" button you see in the margin, or visit our YYT Facebook Page here and click on the "like" button. So go ahead, what are you waiting for, click "like" today!

O'Donel High School Safe Grad
YYT made a guest appearance at the O'Donel High School Safe Grad on April 16. We had to keep it under wraps since Scott wanted to surprise his daughter, Melanie, who was one of the graduates in attendance that night. The theme of the safe grad was "Disney Cruise," and the volunteers who made it happen did an awesome job. Congrats to all the graduates and thanks for having us out to share in your special night.

Daffodil Place Dream Show
YYT will be opening for the Masterless Men at the 2011 Daffodil Place Dream Show. This is a great fundraiser for Daffodil Place, a "home away from home" for families dealing with cancer. This year's show will be held on June 4 at the Holiday Inn and includes a silent auction, three-course meal, and some awesome entertainment. Tickets are only $48, so be sure to get yours today. See you there!

New Gear
I recently purchased a Marshall JVM 205C. It's an all tube 2x12 combo amplifier. It's loud! But it's beautiful! Scott, our keyboard player says it has balls. That's a great description. It allows channel switching via MIDI, so I have the GT-8 hooked up to change all the settings I need during a gig. It's awesome! Come on out and hear it the next time we play!!

YYT @ the MUN Relay for Life
Last night we had the honour of playing a set at the MUN Relay for Life where well over 80 teams participated and over $84,000 was raised in the fight against cancer. It was awesome to see so many students take an active role in this battle, and we had an absolute blast playing a few tunes while the teams did their laps :) Congrats to the organizers for a job extremely well done, and congrats to the participating teams for raising so much dough.

Our 2011 New Years Resolutions
YYT is a band in pursuit of one thing: awesomity. In order to acheive this lofty goal, we have compiled a list of resolutions that we will do our best to accomplish. For your reading pleasure, our resolutions:
10. Grow mullets.
9. Play all sad songs in the key of D minor (to make them even sadder).
8. Keep a drummer for more than 3 months.
7. Less Barry Manilow and more Barry White.
6. Reduce consumption of baked beans/cabbage/pease pudding prior to rehearsal. And by reduce I mean increase.
5. Dedicate an entire set to Canadian iconic band Teaze.
4. Increase hits to our website by publishing semi-nude pictures of Scott.
3. Punctuate the end of every song with syncronized ninja kicks.
2. Play on progressively smaller stages until we can rename the band Tetris.
1. Replace band members with monkeys dressed in civil war uniforms.
Happy New Years everyone!
